A Critical Review of the Indian Healthcare Industry

The healthcare industry in India is growing at a rapid speed; as a result, the need for medical products, beds, medicines, tools, equipments etc. is also increasing with increase in number of patients, which are getting double year by year. Hence, the demand of health & medical products and their makers, suppliers & wholesalers is also on a rise in India. Every hospital, medical centre, and clinic in India is looking for best known healthcare product wholesalers and manufacturers who can provide them world class medical products for different treatments. Fortunately, the Indian government is also helping people by expanding sources of medical representatives, wholesalers and suppliers to reach every corner of the nation and serve needy patients and provide adequate medicines and quality products to the medical shops. Since, the market size of Indian medical industry is growing day by day, patients & chemists are able to get desired products and medicines from trusted vendors at affordable prices. As a result, the medicines are easily accessible to a common person. However, the corruption in proper distribution channel to provide medicines is still a matter to resolve in India.

In spite of a continuous growth in the health and medical sector, there are still some places in India where these medical facilities are not available. The lack of hospitals, beds, medicines, surgical equipment etc., is highly affecting the health of people and degrading the lives of people living in these areas. Reportedly, there is a need of 600,000 to 700,000 additional beds over the next five to six years in different hospitals of India. Such figures give an opportunity of more than US$ 25-30 billion. Thus, it seems the improvement in capital for the empowerment of hospitals and medical centres in India is still in high demand especially in rural and undeveloped areas in India. In metropolitan cities, you can explore an altogether different scenario in the medical sector which seems quite impressive at present. Most metro cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai etc., in India are crowded with many hospitals and healthcare organizations which can be categorized into normal to luxurious range. At such stops, patients are availing world class medical facilities, treatments and medicines at competitive prices.

To arrange all the required resources and medical items for needy patients or people, it is important to regulate the wholesale of medical supplies and products through a proper channel across India. Also, the proper distribution and manufacturing of such items at comprehensive level is also an important factor to consider. Hence, there is still a scope of improvement in healthcare industry in India, which is needed a back support of government to run this department with honesty and dedication.
